Graceland Pride

1995 16.1hh Brown Registered Irish Draught Mare

Gracie is a 1995, 16.1H brown, RID mare. She has the Pride of Shaunlara, elegant front end with a lovely hind end to match. She has a kind, friendly eye and is completely easy going. She was very easy to break to ride and drive and is an excellent mother- she has been known to take on more than one foal at a time!  We lost Gracie in 2014 and never a kinder horse walked the earth.

Notable Offspring:
  • 1999 filly, Unsinkable Molly Brown, by Flagmount King. An excellent example of an RID mare that will be Brianne’s next hunter.
  • 2000 colt, Bridon Beale Street, by Mountain Pearl passed his RID stallion inspection in 2003.
  • 2002 filly, Bridon Fendy Glen, by Glenlara placed second at the 2002 IDHS(NA) National Filly Foal class.
  • 2004 filly, Bridon Dairilea, by Glenlara placed second at the 2004 IDHS(NA) National Filly Foal class.
Pedigree Notes

Gracie is by King Elvis, a son of Pride of Shaunlara. King Elvis sired Annaghdown Star, who won the stallion class at the Royal Dublin Show several times. Though both her parents a grey, Gracie gets her brown color from her paternal grand-dam, Toames Beauty. Toames Beauty produced two RID stallions, King Elvis and Pride of Toames. Gracie's dam is by Lahinch, who perhaps is Laughton's best son who sired 10 stallions in his lifetime. The Laughton line is known for producing “intelligent, talented and kind jumpers”. The Laughton line also has a record of producing showjumpers and producers of show jumpers such as Ginger Dick. Gracie also goes back to the influential mare, Hillcrest Grey Dawn, who has won numerous classes throughout Ireland, most recently the mare class at the 2000 IDHS(Ire) National Show- at the age of 22.
