Glenlara breeds outstanding foxhunters. Read report from Ireland.

Read an excerpt from Charlie Rimpan's January 14, 2006 Hunting Journal with the South Union Foxhounds in Co. Cork, Ireland.

"...The whipper-in Donal Lordan started on a young horse but soon changed onto a very special animal. Pure Irish Draught this six year old is owned by Jo Sullivan and rightly proud of him he is. I saw it jump a narrow bank off the road and he paused on the top with all four feet well set before jumping off with care. Bred in West Cork by Dermot McCarthy he is by Glenlara out of Purple Tara, on his father’s side he goes back to Pride of Shanlara and to Ben Purple through his mother. One might expect him to be on the heavy side but it is not so. He is athletic and stands about 17hands but has the temperament one would expect of an Irish Draught."
